Polymer functionalization of inorganic nanoparticles for biomedical applications

چکیده
Inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) are useful materials in the chemical, physical, biological, and medical sciences. Biomedical applications require inorganic NPs to be stable hydrophilic environments avoid premature biodegradation or clearance by immune system. For this, NP surface is engineered enable colloidal stability, biocompatibility, biomedical function. In this review, we present recent advances polymer coatings of focusing on composition, ligand architecture, resulting coating properties. Further, discuss how engineering governs physicochemical biological properties, enabling use as therapeutics, diagnostics , biosensors, building blocks for material assembly.
